Organisations that require consistent, on-farm greenhouse gas emissions calculations aligned with national standards - such as service and tool providers - can now access the AIA Environmental Accounting Platform (EAP) calculation engine free of charge.
Agricultural Innovation Australia's EAP provides:
Trusted, consistently updated emissions calculators maintained by AIA
Backing from industry - built with investment from 10 rural Research and Development Corporations
Strong, science-based governance supported by a panel of Australia’s leading experts
Coverage across 15+ commodities, aligned with national standards
A simple, developer-friendly API for easy integration
Free access until June 2028 to support industry-wide consistency.
As part of a recent $6.4 million grant from the Australian Government, AIA is offering free access to the EAP’s powerful calculation engine via a simple, developer-friendly Application Programming Interface (API). This initiative supports the goal of improving consistency in on-farm emissions estimates across the agricultural sector.
Free access is available until June 2028, making it easier for industry to align tools, calculators and services with national emissions reporting standards. For producers, this means greater transparency and confidence when selecting service providers.
The API is designed to support a wide range of users, including:
Companies with existing tools, calculators, or digital services for producers
Large or corporate enterprises calculating their own emissions
Industry bodies and best practice management programs
Research organisations conducting agricultural projects.
The EAP is a powerful, science-backed engine for calculating on-farm greenhouse gas emissions across a wide range of agricultural, fisheries, and aquaculture commodities.
Aligned with the Greenhouse Accounting Framework (GAF) Tools for Australian Primary Industries, the EAP will transition to the Australian Government’s upcoming voluntary emissions and reporting standards for agriculture, fisheries, and forestry once they are available.
Free access to AIA’s API is supported by the Australian Government through funding from the Improving Consistency of On-Farm Emissions Estimates Program.
To apply, organisations will need to complete a simple, online form available on the EAP website.

The EAP is also supported by a panel of Australia’s leading experts in greenhouse gas accounting, emissions reduction, soil carbon management, lifecycle assessment and climate science. Read about our Technical Advisory Panel.
