The AIA Environmental Accounting Platform (EAP) is one of the first ten products or services to be awarded certification under the Australian Farm Data Code.
The Australian Farm Data Code was developed by the National Farmers’ Federation (NFF) and aims to promote adoption of digital technology by ensuring that farmers have comfort in how their data is used, managed, and shared.
Products, projects and services must be 100% compliant to be certified, making the code Australia’s most trusted mark for digital technology for Australian farms.
The AIA Environmental Accounting Platform (EAP) is Australia’s first cross-sectoral carbon accounting engine, providing farmers and their supply chains with a standardised approach to carbon accounting across a wide range of commodities.
AIA CEO Sam Brown said the Australian Farm Data Code Certification demonstrates the EAP’s best practice approach to managing farm data.
“The platform was developed following an extensive period of collaboration with farmers and mixed enterprises, so we knew how important data privacy and security were.
“We also knew that with the introduction of mandatory reporting requirements and with many supply chains setting targets, farmers are under increasing pressure to know their carbon emissions.
“The EAP makes it easy for farmers to calculate their carbon footprint, establish a baseline for their operations, and scenario-plan to support decisions aimed at reducing emissions.
“Being fully compliant with the NFF’s Data Code means farmers can use the EAP with confidence and have trust in how it manages their data.”
Mr Brown said that the EAP is also backed by industry and science.
“The platform was built with investment from ten of Australia’s rural Research and Development Corporations and is supported by a panel of Australia’s leading experts in greenhouse gas accounting, emissions reduction, soil carbon management, lifecycle assessment and climate science.”
Producers can access the EAP for free directly via www.aiaeap.com or ask their software or service provider if they are an AIA EAP integration partner.
